Another method is to inject a chemical solution to the surrounding mucous membrane to close the veins and shrink the hemorrhoid. In the photocoagulation technique, the hemorrhoid is treated with infrared rays so that it coagulates and dries up. Laser coagulation is a method, where an electrode discharges electric current and instigates a reaction, inhibiting the blood supply to the hemorrhoid and withering away the sore tissue. There is also a surgical method called hemorrhoidectomy to do away with the hemorrhoids in the anal passage.
